8:00 AM – Hitting the Road
After grabbing a quick breakfast and my trusty toolbox, I head out to the first job site of the day. It’s a beautiful summer morning, but I know it won’t be long before the calls start pouring in for air conditioner repairs.
9:30 AM – Tuning Up a Troublesome Unit
- My first stop is a routine maintenance call in Grayslake, IL.
- The homeowner has been having issues with their central air conditioning unit not cooling efficiently.
- After a thorough inspection, I identify a few potential culprits:
- Dirty air filters
- Low refrigerant levels
- A loose electrical connection
- With a few tweaks and a professional tune-up, the system is running like new again.
12:00 PM – Lunch Break and Scheduling
I take a quick lunch break and check in with the office to see what other jobs are lined up for the day. Sure enough, there are a few air conditioning installation requests that have come in.
2:00 PM – Installing a New AC Unit
My next stop is in Libertyville, IL, where a family is upgrading to a more energy-efficient system. After carefully removing the old unit, I get to work installing the new one according to manufacturer specifications.
5:30 PM – One Last Call
Just as I’m wrapping up the installation, a call comes in from a frantic homeowner in Mundelein, IL. Their air conditioning unit has stopped working entirely. I quickly pack up my tools and head over to diagnose the issue. Fortunately, it’s just a tripped circuit breaker, and I’m able to get their system back up and running in no time.
7:00 PM – Calling It a Day
After a long but rewarding day, I head back to the office to file my reports and restock any supplies I might need for tomorrow. As a Blue Star technician, no two days are ever the same, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Keeping my neighbors comfortable and cool is what it’s all about.
